Hi all. Looks like I'm back. For a minute anyway. These last couple of weeks have been hard with us being away helping to look after my mother-in-law, but she appears to be getting back on her feet so now I'm back home. I actually do have a lot I want to post, but unfortunately today will not be the day. I've just logged on today to do a quick posting for the new collab that I've completed with Wendy of WM [squared] Designs. ScrapMatters has actually released quite of few collabs today. They are called Twice As Nice. Cute, huh? So here is ours.

Blissfully Blue

It's so good to get back into the groove of things. Here it is Saturday and I am actually making a post. I am so proud of myself. I've actually got some work done and want to show it it off. I forgot to mention them last week, but I did release a couple more template sets. I'm quite proud of them.

But this week my new release is my Blissfully Blue Kit. I wanted to do a color themed kit and blue being my favorite couple it seemed like the right choice. I threw in another color because that's just the way I am. But my main focus was blue.

And again my Wonderful CT put together some great Quick Pages and I put a few of them up for sale in the store.

Well, I guess that's all I can do for now. I have to take the children to another birthday party. Between last week and this week I'm just plain worn out. I kind of want to talk myself out of this one, but the kids enjoy them so much. Plus, the parents are kind of close friends of mine, so I guess that means I have to go. Right?

Anyway. My CT has complete enough QPs that I can give some away as a freebie as well. Please note that last week's freebie is no longer avaible. This freebie will only be available for a short while as well, so get it while you can.

Finally Back!!!

I know. I know. It's been such a long time since I last made a post to this blog. I have no excuses for you. It has all been my fault. Sad to say, I found myself in the middle of a deep funk. I just had no creative juices going and it was extremely difficult for me to get any designing or scrapping done. I think I'm finally out of it, but you never really know.

This week has been such a busy week for me. It was both my son's birthday (he turned 10) and my nephew's (he turned 3). We spent the entire week celebrating. Tevin had to go back to school this week after the break so we didn't actually get to celebrate on his big day, which was on Thursday. Also, whenever I got a chance I got some designing done. Finally. So I do have a new release in the store today, but that's thanks to my creative team. I'll have some new products in the store done by me next week. I'm so excited to finally be back in the grove of things.

All the items on the blog train are fun little hybrid projects. I decided on CD covers. I have a holiday photo cd that certain members of my family are receiving. Since I was making covers for them I thought it would be fun to make covers for the blog train as well. Enjoy!

Let's see. A little about the holiday traditions in my family. Actually, we're not really a tradition kind of family. Growing up we always spent the holidays at my grandmother's house. But as me and my sister got older we stopped doing that. It was sometime the highschool that we stopped doing it all together. We lost my grandmother this year and I miss that now. Actually now we have Thanksgiving Dinner at my house. It was very difficult the first year. I spent most of the morning going back and forth from the grocery store trying to get all the things I forgot. Now, I can get it all in one trip. My family is pretty surprised that I host it in the first place. Any other day of the year I moan and complain about cooking and then my husband ends up doing it. But for this one day I'll spend the entire day in the kitchen cooking, no complaints.

Christmas is different. No cooking for me that day. We either go to my mom's or my inlaws. But for Christmas there is a small tradition that my sister and I shared that I now share with my children. My sister and I got out of that wait until you wake up on Christmas morning to open your presents situation. I think I was ten the first time I asked my mom if we're awake at midnight can we open our presents. Her answer was yes so me and my sister stayed up. Opened our presents at midnight, spent maybe and hour playing and then going to sleep. I let my children do this for the first time last year. I didn't think they would be able to stay away, but they could and they did. We'll continue with it this year.

Quite a few of the designers are offering a grab bag this weekend. I'm no different, but I'm not calling mine a grab bag. It's simply a Grabber. Only $3.00. Included in this grabber is 5 brand new products!

Well, as some of you can guess I'm off shopping for those great deals. When I get in this afternoon I have another entry for you. I need to introduce you to my Brand New Keepsake CT. I also want to show you what they can do.

Checking In

Another crazy week. I forgot to mention last week that my sister has moved back to town. She got here on Thursday night. So no more big city for her. She's back to being a hometown girl. My brother also moved down to Orlando this week to go to college. So I lost one sibling and got the other one back.

So, my sister brought with her, her two sons, my nephews, James and Kevin. Kevin is just three months old. Such a cutie. It's weird now having all these children around. I'm so used to it just being my two little ones, now there are two more. I spent most of this week getting ready for my sister and also helping her get settled in, so I had no freebie completed for this week. Sorry! I'll make up for it though. My Template CT call is also underway. I've gotten so many responses that I don't know what to do. I'm contemplating ending my call early. I don't know. I'll have to see what the responses are in the next few days. I want to give everyone a chance to apply, but I hate having to turn so many away. I'm looking for no more than 12, but I've got a feeling that my CT may be bigger than that. We'll see. I'm currently working on my contracts. Some of you may start getting a response from me soon. But in the end, everyone will get a response from me one way or another.

Since my sister is in town, I'm going to teach her digi scrapbooking. You may even start to see her layouts floating around. Imagine. Two of us.

Template CT Call

I've finally completed my flyer for my Template CT Call.

Basically, if you're chosen for my Template CT you'll need to use my Keepsake Templates to make your layouts. I also want the templates used to make quick pages. These quick pages will either be placed in the store or given out as freebies. You're free to make your own layouts as well with any of my kits. My entire store will be free to you for personal use. It's a little different with my templates. If you're chosen to be on this CT you'll have access to all my templates for free and yes, they are still free for commercial use. I figured that's the least I could do. As long as you keep your CT committments, you can use the templates to make layouts and QPs for others. Does that sound good? If it does send me a little email. I'll be choosing 8 to 12 new members for this Template CT.

Net Problems

I'm running late today. I've been having internet problems all day. I finally got a steady connection, and hopefully it will last long enough for me to finish this post. If not, I'll have to do another post tomorrow. I'll try again from home or try going over to my mom's house. I'll have to call the cable/internet people on Monday. I've got quite a few new releases in the store today. It's mostly templates. I have some alphas and a paper pack as well, but I'm still working on getting them into the store now. Here is a look at my new templates.

I've also decided to group some of my templates together to sell as a combo pack. This way you can get 4 template sets for the price of three. Sounds good, doesn't it?

I've also got a couple of alphas and a paper pack that I am currently in the process of putting in the store. If I can make it it should be completed tonight. If not it will be up tomorrow.

I do still plan on having a Template CT Call. Hopefully I'll get my announcement complete soon. After the template CT call I plan on having a call for my regular CT. Keep a look out for those announcements. Now for your freebie.

Vote Today!

If you are living in the United States and have registered to vote you should definitely head on over to the polls! Election Day is serious stuff. Today we vote on who will be our next president as well as some other elected officials. I'm not going to try to sway you one way or another. I know who I'm voting for and am completely behind him. I cast my vote proudly. Please do the same.

Well, that's enough of that. I've said what I needed to say and that's it. Sorry to everyone for this weekend. It didn't work out as I had planned. One of my coworkers had a death in her family and I volunteered to take her on-call weekend to help out. I don't regret my decision, but it was one doozy of a weekend. I did get to take my children trick-or-treating which was fun. They had a great time. Another co-worker set up a haunted house and I took my children by. It took me a good twenty minutes to calm Jayda down. She was so scared!

Of course, with my luck, I get a page at 4:30 in the morning. So I spend all day Saturday either at the local jail or in the hospital trying to get everything cleared up and everyone place safely. I'm not really surprised. I'm actually shocked there wasn't more. From my experience things get out of control around the holidays and down right impossible at Halloween. So basically I didn't get anything done scrap wise on Saturday. I slept late on Sunday and ran off to church. And then completed a photoshoot afterwards. Got some great pictures of my cousin and her lovie and a few of her friends. I'll scrap one for you to see later. So cute!

I tried to get a little done Sunday night, but was just too tired. Sorry. I know it seems like I'm saying that all the time now, but I really do mean it. The changes at work have just been a little harder to get used to than I thought they would be. I'm working on getting better at it though. I am working on this week's freebie. I'm going to do something nice to make up for last week.

Also, I'm planning on having a call for a Template CT. I've got so many templates now and I want to get them out there so I'm looking for more CT members. I'll have an official flyer soon. Basically I want CT members who'll use my templates to make layouts. They'll also be using my kits as well at least part of the time if they choose. Like my other CT members they'll have complete access to my entire store. Still going over the details, but once I get it all figured out I'll post my official call. But if you're interested you can go ahead and email me now. I don't mind. I'll need a short bio, a link to your most current gallery, also other CTs that you've been on or still currently on. The usual. My email on the right hand side of this blog.

There may be a small change in plans for National Scrapbooking Day. Of course ScrapMatters is having a sale, so you may want to run over there and grab all the goodies that you can. But also we are planning a bigger sale and so much more for Black Friday. Hard to believe that the year has gone by so fast. Many of the designers are planning a Grab Bag for Black Friday and of course I will be having one as well, so you might not see a grab bag from me for National Scrapbooking Day, but then again, you may, but not a big one. I'll have to think it over a bit. I do have quite a few things in the works right now, so there will be some new releases. With Halloween going on tonight, I'm not sure if I'll be making a post tomorrow. I have a photo shoot planned and don't know how long it will run. So, if there is no grab bag tomorrow, don't worry. There will be a huge one at the end of the month. I'll try to get back here tomorrow for a posting. If I don't make it check back on Sunday. If I miss you, Happy National Digital Scrapbooking Day!!!

Sorry I'm Late!

This weekend for me was horrible. I had like the worst stomach virus ever! And I'm going to blame it on my co-workers. I don't know where else it could have come from. Last week I was left alone to man the office because everyone else was away at conference. One person always has to stay behind to be on call and this time it was me. Wasn't as bad as I figured it would be, but it sure was lonely with no one else coming into the office but me. Talk about being on lock down the entire time. So when everyone got back on Thursday they were all talking about this bug that they all got and how sick they all were, but then they got better the last couple of days. So I listened thinking it was no big deal. Everyone appeared to be doing fine. But then what happens. Friday I get so sick I spend most of the day in the bathroom. Most of the afternoon anyway. I started out great, but then that afternoon I just got unbelieveably sick. Anyway, not a pleasant weekend. Hopefully the rest of my family doesn't get it. But with my luck, they'll all have it at the same time.

I've got a few new releases at the shop. Nothing big, just some alphas and a paper pack. I've been working on more, but I plan to put together a grab bag for Digital Scrapbooking Day. I want to pack it full! So here is a look at what's new in my store, but you won't be able to purchase any of it today. ScrapMatters is down for today and maybe part of tomorrow for some upgrades. We've been getting some heavy traffic so now we need more power or whatever. I don't understand all the technical stuff.

For this paper pack please note that all the burlap papers are png files which makes the complete download huge! But I love the texture and think that they make great backgrounds. Of course you need something solid behind it which is why I threw in a piece of brown paper bag paper. Look for more burlap in the future.

Fun Little Game

Girl On Wheels has Arrived!

I have finally finished a layout. I can't remember the last time I actually had the time and work on a layout for the fun of it. This is one of the photos I took on my daughter's birthday. One of her presents was a Hannah Montana scooter. She is a huge Hannah Montana fan.

For this layout I used one of the Keepsake 8 templates which were released today. Also I used my Girl On Wheels kit which was also released today. Girl On Wheels is the sister kit to Boy On Wheels.

Here is another layout by haynay using the Girl On Wheels kit. You'll see some more in the gallery later.

Now for the freebie. Today I have two for you. This is to somewhat make up for the week that I forgot. First is a small quickpage set using my Delightful Refreshment kit. This quickpages were made for you by a few of my CT members. Enjoy.

Boy On Wheels is Released!

Thanks to all of you who have responded about my daughter's birthday. It was a great day for her and she had a great time with her little friends. My husband and I were completely wore out from the experience. Normally for our birthday zoo trip it's just the family. This time we invited friends. Sure we all had fun, but the children were the only ones who didn't need a nap at the end of the day. I haven't downloaded my pictures yet, but I'll have some soon to show.

Today I wanted to let you see some of the layouts my CT has created using my Delightful Refreshment Kit. I had intended on doing this last week, but it was just too crazy a week for me.

I wanted to do a boy kit first, but there is a sister kit scheduled to be released next week. But for now, let me introduce Boy on Wheels.

Sorry, no layouts for you yet. I intended to complete some myself, but didn't get the chance. I just got the kit to my CT as well so there aren't any there either. I'll work on it.

Daughter Turns 6

Sorry all, I forgot to post this earlier this week. But my daughter turns six today. This weekend has been so busy that I haven't had the time to work on the freebie. Sorry all. I really am. But my baby is growing up. Can you believe it? In ten years she'll be driving. As my husband has reminded me, in a little over six years my son will be driving. They grow up so fast.

Hi all, and welcome to my blog. Most likely you got here by way of Sandy's blog: Inspiration's Creation. I hope you enjoy this 35th stop of the ScrapMatters Birthday Blog Train. I hope that you have been enjoying your trip around the world so far. And I'm sure that you've been enjoying your goodies.

Birthday's are so much fun. To tell you the truth I don't remember much about my birthdays growing up. They were never a very big deal. We got our presents and loved to play with them, but I don't really remember any parties. At least not until I turned eighteen. That was a great one there.
So with my children I started our own little birthday tradition. Each year on their birthday we have a fun day at the zoo. It seems that they never get tired of it, no matter how many times they have been. I hope to do this for years to come. We've been doing it for the last three years now. My daughters birthday is coming up on the forth so I'll have a lot of great birthday kits to scrap with this kit.

It's so exciting. I've actually got my post ready for you today. I think this move to Saturday was most likely the best decision for me. Last week I meant to post that I was not going to be picking a comment winner, but since I did get a few comments this week I will be choosing one. Also, I do have a few new releases in the store. But not a full kit yet. I've been working a lot on my alphas and my templates. Now that I've got a look for my templates that I'm happy with I find myself making them all the time. Everytime I sit at my computer I work on one. Either I make a new one or I complete one that I started. They are not as easy to complete as I thought they were. Especially with me doing the individual shadows for each layer. That takes up so much time and then doing the individual png files. I get so happy after I complete a set. But then I start all over again. But I think it's worth it. Sad News

I'm sorry guys. I'm sure you don't want to here this, but I'm going to be a bit delayed with today's post. Yesterday we found out that one of my husband's cousin's had passed away. This was very unexpected since she is only a couple of years older than him. Her death was very unexpected, as they usually are for those so young. Once she started to feel sick she waited until she couldn't stand it anymore to go to the hospital. She died a week later. She was diagnosed with cirrous of the liver. Yes she was a heavy drinker, and to see it take someone so young is heartbreaking. I personally did not know her that well and can not tell you the type of person she was. But still this is a subject that so much more education needs to be done. Especially for our young highschoolers. What starts out as fun and become such a dangerous habit.

Well, I don't want to make this such a depressing post. We're getting ready to leave for the funeral now. We learned late of her death. It's one of those things where everyone thought that someone else told. But we happened to call Evan's mother last night and she told us. We'll be taking her to the funeral with us. I'll try to make my freebie post tonight after we get back, but it may be delayed until tomorrow. I'm sorry to delay this again, but I just didn't have any other choice. Thanks for understanding.

Challenge Delay

Okay, I'm sorry. I'm making another change and it's probably getting on your nerves. I'm really sorry aobut it. But I've had no choice, it's either change it or have it always being late. Let me explain. With my new schedule at work, I'm always on call. So my schedule changes from day to day. Sometimes I get to leave early, but most often I leave late. When I get home I'm just plain tired. The only good thing about this new arrangement is that I get my weekends completely to myself. So if I can get out of bed, I can usually fit in a bit of scapping. So, since my weekends are clear I've decided to move my Wednesday goodies to Saturday. That way my postings aren't late and you guys don't miss out on your freebies. I'm starting this this week, so this week's challenge is going to go on until Saturday. A winner will be selected and we'll continue on with our next challenge.

Okay, so I didn't get this done last night like I thought I would. Honestly, I tried. It just didn't work out that way. I find myself so tired in the afternoons. I'll work on it though. I'm not going to be announcing last week's challenge winner today, I'll make that announcement tomorrow. But I'm going to go ahead and post this week's challenge. I'm hosting this week.

This week we have a template challenge. No real rules, follow the template as much as you like, modify it as necessary. Any topic is allowed. And yes, I do want you to add some journaling. Not necessarily as much as on the template, but journaling would be great. Use any digital products you like and just post a link to your layouts in my comment section. Here's your template.

Goodness, this week has just been moving to fast. There has been much too much to do. Okay, the winner this week for my comment prize is EBPitcher. Congrats. You will receive a link in your email. If you have any problems with it just let me know.

I've also made a decision regarding the Challenges. I will begin to offer a participation prize next week. Most likely it will be a mini kit or something similar that will be up for sale in the store soon. Each participant in the challenge will get a free download prior to the product being placed in the store. Let's hope many of you participate to get the prize.

Also, from now on, my new releases will be placed in the store either on Wednesday or on Friday. Since those are the days that many of you visit my blog, you will be notified of each release when you stop by.

Sorry that this has been a short post, but I've just got so much going on right now. Things are changing at work for me and my posting my be later than usual. My schedule has changed so I am either going to try to make my posting the night before and let it auto publish, or the post will be made later in the day. Hi all, it's Challenge Wednesday once again. I'm sorry to say that there will be no winner announced for last week's challenge due to lack of participation. I've been thinking it over and I may just start to offer a participation prize. If there continues to be a lack of participation after that then I just may have to stop offering the challenge at all.

When I made these previews I made a mistake for the Quick Page and Brag Book. I didn't make either of these items, my Artist kit was used. Kook Kreations by Holly made my brag book pages and once again Len Escobar made the Quick Pages. I will get these previews corrected and posted correctly in the store. Sorry ladies, I will get to that quickly. Both ladies do receive proper credit in the store description.

Also, today in the store I released my first template set under the name Digi Keepsakes. I finally got it to look the way I wanted it to. So if you like templates look at these. You can find the link to my store at the right.

Now that I've got the hang of them I intend to make them more often. Also, just so you know. These templates are availabe in PSD files as well as individual png files. Also drop shadows are included in the layer files, but each drop shadow has it's own individual layer so they are easily changed and won't interfere with your design choice.

Usually I would end this posting here, but I've realized that so much has happened these last couple of weeks and I haven't told you guys about any of it. It's been crazy around here. Well, my children started back at school last week. This was Jayda's first year. She started Kindergarten. She took it so well, I expected tears and all, but got none of it. She walked into her classroom and told me good-bye. Then got irritated with me while I was trying to take her picture. Her very first day of school has most definitely got to be documented. Tevin did great, but he's a big boy now. We've gone through a lot this summer and we're hoping for him to have a better year at school. Only time will tell.

I watched a lot of tv. Joshua won So You Think You Can Dance, Yay!!! I just loved him. It was actually a surprise for me. I expected Will to win, but he got eliminated earlier. He wasn't my favorite dancer, but I felt that he was the most trained. But this just makes the fact that my favorite dancer did win all the sweeter. I loved Katie as well and actually thought she would be second place, but that was not right either. Anyway, she did win her something and they will all be on tour together. Such fun.

The Olympics began. I actually didn't expect to watch the opening ceremonies, but I was flipping through the channels at my mother's house and was just amazed by the drum show and couldn't change the channel. I sat with my mom and watched the entire thing. It was so long, but absolutely amazing.

Okay, now for the greatest news. I became an aunt for the second time yesterday. My sister had her second little boy early yesterday morning. I found this out from my mom who woke me up early yesterday morning to tell me. My sister already sent us some pictures so expect some layouts later. My mom left yesterday afternoon to spend the next week or so with my sister in Florida. I have been left in charge of taking care of my dad, mainly make sure he eats everyday. We'll see how that goes.

We'll that has been my last couple of weeks in a nutshell. You guys enjoy the rest of your week. I'll be back on Friday to let you know who my comment winners are.

ScrapMatters Round the World Tour!!!

Hi All! Welcome to stop #10 of the ScrapMatters Round the World Tour. I am here in Sweet Home Alabama. Lived here majority of my life and to tell you the truth, it's kind of boring, but I wouldn't change it for anything in the world. I love being that good ol' country girl, and believe me there's a lot of county around here. Well, there's actually much more than that. Alabama has a lot of history, not all of it good, but still it's home. I put together a few photos, some of what I love best about the state that I live in.

I have always been surrounded by farming and naturally farm animals come with that. Luckily I don't have to get close except those few times that cows are blocking the road and you have to wait until they pass, when they are good and ready. Lots of old plantation houses, beautiful to look at although the history may not be all that great. Nature at it's finest and some great fishing. We've got beaches too! And there's absolutely nothing better than Alabama Football, Go Auburn!!!

Keep On Going

Such a busy weekend for me. I hope everyone had a great few days. Nothing much going on my way. Just wanted to make a quick entry today. I got the book on Saturday, for those who don't know, I'm talking about Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer. Huge fan of her books. This one wasn't what I expected. It was great, but I thought the book was a little more on the adult side instead of young adult. No biggie really since I am an adult and I was just reading it for myself. But still, book was great. I spent all day Saturday reading it and got it finished before I went to sleep that night. Great read for anyone who's looking for a new book or a new author. She is quickly becoming on of my favorites.

The Host is her adult novel. Amazing book. LOVED IT. It's actually the only one I don't own. Reading the cover I didn't think I could get into it so I didn't buy it. I just waited for it to be available at the library. I was completely drawn in during the first chapter and couldn't put it down until I completed it. Stephanie Meyer is a huge fan of the 600+ pages. I'm an avid reader and read pretty quickly so I was able to finish in a day. I would put The Host in my top 5 favorite books list. It's that good.

Anyway, once I got the book out of the way I was able to do some designing. I'll have quite a few new products coming into the store in about a week or so. I have a pretty large freebie planned for Wednesday to go along with the weekly challenge. The challenge this week has been going along well and we've had some participation. The layouts have been great and I know that it's going to be difficult for Geri to pick a winner. Tater has a great challenge planned for Wednesday as well. Don't forget to check back for that. Nothing more fun that winning a free kit.

Getting Frustrated

I can't believe all the problems I am having with my 4shared account. I still can't get the direct download to work right. Fortunately the link is working and you shouldn't have any problems downloading the entire Young Private kit, but you will have to wait at least 30 seconds before you download begins. I do know know why it's doing that. It just started. It's so frustrating. You pay so that everyone won't have to go through that hassle and it quits on you like that. I've emailed 4shared and they told me that my account looks fine and to double check that the direct download in enabled, which it is and has been since I bought the premium downloads. I've even disabled it and logged out and logged back in and enabled it again, but still I can't get a direct download. I'm still going to work on it and maybe it will finally fix itself. I hate that you all are having to go through this slow download process.

Something had happened and half the download was gone. So If you downloaded your file before today you may want to get it again. I'll leave this link up for a while so it won't cause too much trouble. The corrected link is up and ready to go, just go back to the previous entry.

First Blog Challenge

Time for something new! My creative team and I thought that it would be fun to start offering a weekly challenge so you all could get a chance to win a free download of my latest kit. I had a new release today, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to have our very first challenge. Since this challenge has begun on a Wednesday it will end Tuesday night of next week and then another challenge will be offered next Wednesday. Me and the ladies of my creative team will take turns hosting these great challenges for you. I will begin it all with a template challenge. Easy, I know.

This is the template for this week's challenge. Basically you follow the template as much as possible, but be creative with it. You can flip it and add all the embellishments you want. Also, for this layout I need for you to document a moment in which you felt proud, either for yourself or someone else. Not to hard, is it? Also, once you completed a layout you need to leave a comment at the bottom of this blog entry with a link so that we can all look at it. The link should be to your own personal gallery in flickr or photobucket, etc, or it can be a link at the ScrapMatters Gallery or Digi Shop Talk.

Here is what I came up with. My brother went through basic training last year during his summer break. Came out an army man.

Last year I also release my most popular freebie to date. It was called In the Army Now. It was in honor of my brother's basic training. This year he went off to AIT so that's another graduation ceremony that I have to go to. Well, in this year I have grown as a designer and decided to update the freebie. I offer this kit to you. Side Tracked

Sorry, all, I got a little sidetracked for a few days. It's been great though. It was alike all this inspiration just came out of nowhere, and all I could do was focus on it. I spent these last few days working on new kits. I had planned on taking a break from kits and work on some alpha sets to continue on in my name series, but I haven't been able to yet. Right now I just put two new kits into the store harddrive, so they should be out in a few days. And still on my computer are four other kits that are just about finished. Isn't that crazy? I'm not going to release them all at the same time, but this will allow be to take a break later should I need one.

Recently I retired some of my kits and I have had some requests for some of them. Unfortunately I had a big computer problem and most of these kits are now gone for good. So if you were interested in any of my retired kits or freebies, I'm sorry. There's no way for me to bring them back. But luckily I've decided to revamp some of these kits. Staring with my In the Army Now Freebie. My brother is going through his AIT so it will come in handy soon. I've had a request for some military things as well. The kit is almost finished and should be in the store sometime in the month of July. Next I think I'll probably work on my Casual Friday kit.

We're also going to be doing more things on my blog. My CT had some suggestions and I think we're going to go through with most of them. I'll start to have some challenges soon where you can actually win some of my kits. I think that's all I'm going to tell you now. But I think you'll enjoy the fun things we have planned.

Focus on Sunset Garden

Today I'm going to focus on my Sunset Garden kit. Mainly because my CT ladies have completed quite a few layouts using this kit. For this kit I tried to do something a little different while still staying myself. I love bold colors, but mainly I use them for boy kits. This is definately a feminine kit, but I needed it to be bold. Also I completely themed it around flowers. I like flowers, and I normally have a couple of flowers in all of my kits, but I wanted/needed to do more with this one. Also, this is my first time experimenting with stickers. So, it was a step forward for me.

New Members of My CT

Well, the call is finally over and I now have seven new members to my CT. I know that I had only intended on four, but so many good scrappers applied that it was hard to settle for just four. So I have seven!

Of course on my CT there is also Linz and Tater who were both on my original CT. They have graciously agreed to stay on as my CT Leaders. I don't know how I would've gotten through this call without them.

These ladies have also started working on their layouts. I caught a glimpse of some of them at the ScrapMatters' Gallery today. I'll start posting these layouts tomorrow. I wanted today just to be about them. Please everyone, help me make them feel welcome. I'm so glad to have all of you as a part of my team.

Last Day of CT Call

It's finally here. Today is the last day to put in your application to my CT Call. This call has been such a surprise, simply in the amount of applicants I received and the talent out there. This has been a very difficult time for both me and my CT Leaders. But sometime in the next few days I will be contacting everyone who applied to let them know if they have made it onto my CT or not. Unfortunately I am not able to put everyone who applied onto my CT no matter how much I want to. For those of you who don't make it please don't get discouraged. Keep doing what makes you happy.

Now, in other news. I have a couple of new kits that I have completed. They are both full size kits. I know that I usually release a full size kit and a mini kit together, but once I started working on these two I just couldn't stop at a mini. Keep a look out for them. I'll be sure to post when they are available.

I have a small little freebie for you today as well. I was experimenting with differnt color combinations to see how well they would work together. This is one of those experiments. I think I like the colors together, but some of them are so bright. Let me know what you think. You never know, a full size kit could come out of this.

This is an edit to my blog entry for today. My new kits were actually placed in the store this afternoon and I wanted to go ahead and add it to this same post. My Sunset Garden kit was a very difficult kit for me just because of the colors. It took me an entire month to get the kit just right. I hope you all like it. Giddy in the Store

I've got a couple of new kits available in the store today. I know that this release is coming real soon after the last release I had in the store, but there are some things going on behind the scenes and it was just for the best for it to be released early. I actually don't have anymore completed projects just yet, so it may be a while before you see something new. It should be more than a couple of weeks though. I do have some ideas floating around in my head. The next thing you should probably keep an eye out for is the next installment of the Alpha Name Series. It's time for the B's. Anyway, here is what I have in the store.

Also, don't forget that I'm looking for a few new members to add to my Creative Team. I've already gotten some applications in and they have been great, but I'm still looking for more. I know there's a lot of great talent out there.

I've been going through my computer these last couple of days trying to organize my space. It has gotten awfully crowded real quickly. While cleaning out some folders I realized that I haven't given away any templates lately. I haven't had any new templates in the store yet either. So, I'm going to work on that. But I did find a couple of templates saved already that I would like to share with you now. Unfortunately they are only in PSD format. Sorry about that. I'll eventually release my templates with png files as well, but haven't gotten around to that yet.

Some of you may have noticed that I have expired some of my blog freebies. I know that I normally leave my freebies up for a long time, but my 4shared account is getting very crowded. I had to free up some space so the freebies kind of suffered. Sorry. I not only keep my freebies on the account, but my store kits are there as well. This way they are assessible to my CT and also it's easier for me to use them as giveaways. I do plan to upgrade some more in the future and have even more space, but for right now I'm keeping it as it is. Also, the freebies that were still active on my old blog has also expired. I do plan on offering freebies on a regular basis, so don't look as this as missing out on some goodies. There are still plenty more to come.

Much Too Short

My weekend was just too short to please me this week. It was like there was so much going on. My brother had his graduation on Saturday. I haven't had a chance to look at the photos that I took so I don't have anything to show you there. My mom bought me a new camera a couple of weeks ago. I'm so happy with it. I'm learning how to use the manual settings. It was an early birthday present. I got to pick it out and everything. It's counting as my birthday and Christmas present from my mom. It also probably counts as my birthday and maybe Christmas of next year. It's not as SLR eventhough I do eventually want one, but it was the closest to it that I could find. I'll try to remember to get a pic of if for you.

Graduation went well. It was a huge class, about 250. I remember my nephew graduation last year. There was only 68 in the graduating class. Such a huge difference, of course they are different schools. My nephew is from a small town school and my brother in the city. We only got 10 tickets so it was hard to decide who got to go. I went and so did my daughter. My husband didn't go because he worked the night before and only got home a couple of hours before I left for the ceremony. My son didn't go because he spent the weekend with his father. So I took my little girl and met the rest of my family there. The actual ceremony was short, but the walking of all those students was so long. We left a little early to miss the traffic of everyone trying to leave at the same time.

I did some reading this weekend as well. I don't have the time to read as much as I like to anymore. I went to my favorite used book store and traded in some of the books that I had. It allowed me to purchase another bag of books. I'm trying some new authors. I may have found a new favorite. We'll see.

School is Out!!!

Yesterday was the last day of school for my son. I'm proud to say that he has passed into the 4th grade. This year has been so hectic and he has had so many set backs that I wasn't sure that it was going to happen, but it did. Yay!!! He's seeing a new doctor next week, so I can only hope that things will improve.

I've been going through some of my old photos and layouts and have decided to update some of them. I completed this one last week, but have only just gotten around to posting it here.

All paper and elements are from the Digi Chick Mega Kit Homeroom except metal stars which are from Weeds and Wildflowers. Font used is Lorraine by Darcy Baldwin.

Announcements

I can't believe that it has been a week since my last post. I have no idea where the time went. I hope you all enjoyed your memorial day holiday. We didn't do much at our house. It was a pretty day, but my husband had to work so it was basically me and the kids. I took them to the park and we went over to my mother's house. We did cook dinner last night and all had a nice meal together.

You may have noticed that I changed my banner on this blog. It's only a temporary thing. I'm still trying to find that perfect look. I did want to let you guys know that I have some new products in the store.

I've been trying to keep myself as busy as possible, that way I can keep a steady stream of new products in the store. Pictured above is my new mini kit and full size kit. Also you see the first in a series of alphas. I've started a name series to keep up with my own personal alpha demands. I'll be going through each letter of the alphabet. I started with A for Ashley and Abram. Ashley is currently in the store and Abram should be there soon.

Also, I've finally decided to have another CT call. I am currently looking for 4 new members to my CT to complete new layouts for my new kits and I am also looking for someone to make blinkies and blog banners. Of course I could do the blinkies myself, but quite frankly, I don't think I'm that good at it. I'd love to have someone on board who could do them for me in exchange for access to all of my kits and products.

Freebie For You

Nothing much going on today. I hope you guys had a great weekend. I can say that mine was okay. I did a little photography this weekend. It's not something that I usually do. Sure, I take pictures of my children all the time, but not in a session or anything. I just grab the camera and go at it. But my brother needed some pictures in his cap and gown. He's graduating next week. Well, he didn't want the pictures, my mom wanted them. I've taken some pretty good pictures of my son (I call them studio quality) and she wanted me to take some of my brother. I don't have an SLR so it's a little more difficult getting a great photo. I want one one day, but this is not something that I intend to do professionally. I frankly don't have the time. If I would have known back in college that I enjoyed this so much I might have taken it up, but no. I don't know why I didn't experiment. My sister was majoring in photography at one point and she had all the equipment. I never once picked up the camera and asked her to show me. She lives too far away to teach me now.

Anyway, so I took my brother to one of the local parks and took his photo. I didn't take that many cap and gown photos because I knew he wouldn't give them out if we had them printed, but I took a lot of casual photos of him. They turned out pretty good. I took the photos outside because I knew the light would be good. I'm not dependable with inside photos. I may post some of them on a later date. I'm still working on some editing.

I spent some time working on the computer as well. I have some new products in the store due for release soon. I'll post it when they are available. But I also have a freebie for you guys.

Challenge at ScrapMatters

Hi, all. Just wanted you guys to know that I'm hosting a template challenge over at ScrapMatters.

Also I'm so used to doing the Words for Wednesday at ScrapMatters that I thought it was appropriate to do a journaling challenge as well. Great Weekend

Hi, all. I hope all those mothers out there had them a GREAT Mother's Day. I can say that mine was pretty good. The children and my husband surprised me with a weekend trip to the beach. We stayed that this nice little condo right across the street from the sand and water. I'm not really much of a beach person, to tell you the truth I absolutely hate the sand. It just gets everywhere. But the children loved it and it was worth all the hassle. So while I was sitting around I got a little work done and even completed a couple of layouts.

It's been a long time since I've actually completed a layout using my own kits. I've been doing so much shopping and I've wanted to make sure that I've used what I've bought. But I just love this Being Bold kit, it's available in the store now.

I've been having a hard time coming up with inspiration for new things, but it's like it's just flowing freely now. I hope that this keeps on going. I do have some new things that I need to download into the store, so keep a look out for that. Also I have plans to add some new members to my creative team. There has been some changes and some of the girls have had to step down, so I'm looking for some new talent. I'll make an annoucement once I'm ready to get it all together.

Still Moving On

Things have been so crazy here. I've been doing my best trying to catch up at work after weeks of being out. My daughter is playint tee ball and I've been doing her games and her practices. My son is having some troubles at school and I'm working on getting his grades up. And then there are my doctor's appointments. But some where in between all of this I have found the time to work. I've found some inspiration as well. I'm doing very good. You'll see a few new products from me coming up in the store in the next couple of weeks.

But there is a new release in the store today. It's a mini kit and I've named it Tender Moments. It's one of those soft kits that are perfect for scrapping those tender hearted moments. Here's a look:

You'll notice some changes in my design style and I've improved the way I put my kits together. It's no longer so random. The most difficult part of a kit for me is the papers. I have so many ideas,but they don't always fit well. I'm getting better at that.

New To Store!

I'm just about completly back into the groove of things. Yay! So today I have a few things to post about. I already posted the new alphas I have in the store the other day, but I also mentioned a new kit. You can grab it at ScrapMatters now. This kit I named For Keeps Sake. It's in honor of my new design name. I just thought it was the cutest thing when I thought of it and it just stuck. So here's a look.

The colors are fairly neutral for the most part. I wanted something that I could use for layouts for both my son and my daughter. But I did get a little carried away with the flowes, but it's still a good choice. To me anyway. The flowers are masculine enough, I think.

I also got a freebie for you guys today. I had actually made these papers to go along with a new kit before I got sick and had surgery. But now that I'm better, I can't remember where I was going with these papers so I decided to offer them as a freebie. I finished a couple of fibers as well and since they don't match what I'm working on now I'm going to give them out as well. I hope you enjoy them.

When I worked on this mini kit I was having those loving thoughts of my husband. He's been such a great help and I appreciate it all. Love that man. So this mini kit is named Tender Moments. The color scheme is very soft, so that means very feminine, at least parts of it. But I have to admit, it's totally cute.

Back Into The Flow of Things

After being lazy for so long I didn't realize how difficult it would be just to go to work. Luckily I have a desk job and I'm sitting down all day, but there have been times when I have been extremely uncomfortable. Being back at work is fine, but I sure wish I was still at home.

Also, I've started back at work on my designing. It was easier than I thought it would be. I felt that I had lost all my creative thought process, but apparently I had not. I have completed a digital kit and also a set of alphas. I'm even working on the finishing touches of a mini kit. You can find my White Paper Chipboard Alphas in the ScrapMatters store now and look forward to the rest in a couple of days. I'm so excited to be back into the groove of things. Yay!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I have a layout for you. This is what I have working on for the past couple of days. I know that's a long time to complete a layout, but I've been so busy trying to finish up my products as well. But I loved this picture so much that I had to squeeze in some time to scrap it.

Yesterday I made a really stupid mistake. I've spend spending a lot of time over at my parent's house while my mom and I are in recovery. So I do some of my scrapping over there as well. I keep a lot of my scrapping tools on a portable hard drive and yesterday I got this great idea. Why don't I clean it up a bit? It was really cluttered with stuff and I didn't need a lot of it so I was just going to delete it. I already had my pictures and scrapping supplies backed up so I wasn't worried about deleting anything that I needed. I was so excited to be clearing off some space that I wasn't really paying attention to what I was deleting. Needless to say, I deleted everything I had worked on the past few days. I failed to save any of in on the computer, either mine or my moms, so it's all gone. It wasn't much, but I had completed a few layouts. I even participated in one of the template challenges at ScrapMatters. You'll never know now, unless I do it all over again. But right now I'm just too tired to do that. I had a great challenge entry though. I may do it over anyway. It'll be too late for the challenge, but it's a great LO anyway.

So, today I had planned on posting those layouts that I completed, but since I can't I'm going to post a couple of layouts that my Creative Team had completed. I think that they are great substitutes. I'm in the process of updating the Creative Team Gallery, so soon you'll see new LOs that weren't there before.

In both of these layouts my Good Times kit was used. I actually placed that kit into the store just before all the trouble began, so you may not even remember it. Here's another look at it just in case.

Keeping Promises

Although I've made it a rule not to make promises on this blog, I had made some promises on my previous blog and I intend to keep them. I promised some freebies and I'm going to give some. I gave a small freebie on my post yesterday and I have another one for you today. Yesterday I offered a plain generic freebie that can be used with anything and anyone. Today I've drifted back into my own style. It's a little bit grungy and it's also a bit girly. I've named this freebie Candy Shop after it's colors. First Blog Freebie

It's been such a long time since I've offered a freebie and I feel horrible for that. Since I got this new blog up and we have the new name it seemed appropriate that I offer freebie. It's a small freebie, with everything that has been going on I haven't been able to do much, but I did complete this. The packaging is simple and it will not remain this way. I haven't decided on my new look yet. ScrapMatters has made some changes and we will now all have the same packaging which is great, but I want a little something different from my blog freebies. I'll have something figured out soon. So here is is. I didn't name the freebie, for right now it is freebie number one.

A Scare and New Beginning

Digi Keepsakes by Monica Evan formally Sunshine Digi Scraps.

It seemed appropriate for my first posting to be identical to my last posting at Sunshine Digi Scraps so you all will have the background. Here it is.

I've decided that I'm no longer going to make promises on my freebies and products. Things always seem to happen. You may already know that my mother had surgery recently and I have been helping out at her home as well as taking care of things at my home. Some of you may also know that I some times have trouble with my stomach due to GERD and gastritis. So when the stress level went up and I started having stomach pains I didn't think anything of it because that's normal for me. I just doubled up on my medicine like the doctor told me to and kept on going. I failed to realize that the pain wasn't the same. The medicine didn't make it better either. It only got worse until I eventually passed out from the pain. A trip to the emergency room and a few tests later we discovered that it wasn't my stomach it was my gallbladder. It was severely infected and I also had some gallstones. The doctor decided that it couldn't be saved so I was placed on antibiotics for a few days and given some pain meds, but there was little improvement and surgery was set up. I had my gallbladder removed last week and was released from the hospital the next day. They only kept me overnight for observations. The surgery wasn't as invasive as I thought it would be. The miracles of modern medicine. There was some pain and discomfort, but easily handled my meds. Instead of coming home I went to my mothers house for a few days. Misery loves company and all that. My husband helped out a lot and took care of the kids. I just love that man.

I started feeling better after a few days, but was told to take it easy. I still had to take the pain meds when it got bad, but they always made me tired and I slept alot. I had plenty of time to think and decided that changes needed to be made. One of those changes is Sunshine Digi Scraps will be no more. I'm still designing, but I decided a name change was necessary. There are so many sunshine somethings out there that it gets very confusing, even for me. So a change was made, now I will be designing under the name Digi Keepsakes by Monica. Along with the name change is a change of email and a change of blog. I actually got a chance to start setting that up so here is the link:
